Fresh Cracked Eggs

hey.. I have not written in a while. but seriously.. Fresh Cracked Eggs…? yes, I am not kidding, it’s a sign on a door of a fast food outlet in Courtenay. I gotta ask…. what were we getting before? Before we had ‘Fresh Cracked Eggs’ …options: Eggs that were cracked but not fresh. Eggs that were not fresh, but the cracks were fresh. Were we getting stale cracked eggs before? Have they been ‘pre-cracking” (see my blog on ‘pre’). .. the eggs all these years? Are the eggs now fresh, and the cracks are the same as always? I need specifics. I find it is pretty hard, nigh unto impossible, to use an egg without cracking it, so I hazard a guess that cracks don’t even have to be mentioned at all. Fresh eggs…. and How fresh?… are the chickens in the back?… Egg farmers.. how long does an egg sit around before it is no longer considered fresh? How much time between cracking an egg and using it is considered a fresh crack? Well, if they said, “we serve fresh coffee’, or ‘ our sandwiches are freshly made’, that would make sense to me. “Our donut grease is fresh off the truck”... now that I could identify with. and while I am at it, what is the difference between a fresh crack and a wise crack? But back on topic, Fresh Cracked Eggs… I just don’t get it. I think the marketing company department should come up with something less confusing, The sign makers are waiting.
