How much does boiling water cost?

Another burning question in my mind.. when I get a cup of coffee in a restaurant or cafe, I usually get offered a refill (at $3.50 per cup, I should say so).. But why do tea drinkers not get offered a refill? Last time I checked, water was still free in Canada. and c’mon, can you not give them another tea bag… are margins so slim? Maybe the tea drinkers should bring their own tea bags and you just charge them for the boiling water? which you offer freely for the second pot…..

also, why are teapots in restaurants so tiny. Why have a teapot that is smaller than the cup? Except Sticky Wicket in Victoria BC, now THEY have a good sized tea pot. Restauranteurs, write to me. I may even send you a free book if I like your response.
